It is an important and informative food safety conference—Food Safety Roundtable:  Promoting Quality in the Global Food Chain.  The Roundtable is a private sector, working conference for the agricultural and food industry and will be held April 27-28, 2009 at the Commune by the Great Wall Kempinski Resort near Great Wall, Beijing.

II. Main Goals of the Summit

To explain the “Food Safety Law” which will become effective on June 2009.
To analyze for enterprises the background behind trade barriers
To analyze for enterprises policies and standards for international trade that influence Chinese enterprises a lot
To analyze for enterprises the differences between Chinese food standards and international standards
To provide enterprises with strategies for crisis management in international trade
To promote exchanges between domestic and overseas food enterprises
To provide technological and financial assistance for Chinese food enterprises in tackling overseas market
To provide technological and financial assistance for Chinese food enterprises in enhancing food quality
To study and discuss strategies for Chinese food enterprises in import and export trade and their participation in global competitions given latest situations
 
III. Activities of the Summit and the Theme

Main activities: keynote speech, expert seminars, talks for international cooperation between enterprises, exhibition of new products and new technologies, senior roundtable meetings. (For details, please refer to the “Agenda of the Meeting”.)
 
The summit meeting centers on the theme of “food trade standards, food safety crisis management, assisting Chinese food enterprises in enhancing food quality and assisting food enterprises to expand their international market”.
